​Georgeann Wells began her WVU basketball career in 1983. While at WVU, she set numerous records and became the first woman to dunk in a women's college basketball game. Wells accomplished this on December 21, 1984 against Charleston during the Mountaineer Christmas Classic. Even though this dunk stands out in her career, she also accomplished much more as a mountaineer. For example, she averaged 14 PPG and 10.1 RPG through her career, an impressive double-double. Additionally, she scored 1,484 total career points, had 1,075 career rebounds, and blocked 436 shots throughout her career. Other notable accomplishments in her career include:

  • 1983 AWSF freshman All-American

  • Two-time all-Atlantic 10 first team member (1985-1986)

  • 1985 AWSF third-team All-American

  • 1985 Kodak All-East 

  • 1984 second-team all-Atlantic 10
