Anna Jarvis endured and accomplished a great deal throughout her 84 years of life. Most notably, she founded Mother's Day, but there are several interesting and inspiring aspects of her life that many people do not know about. For example, near the end of her life she actually pushed to end Mother's Day because of how commercialized it became, when she simply wanted people to honor everything a mother does for their family. The other sections of this site will explain her life and some of the challenges she faced in greater detail.
